Electronics Buyer/Materials Planner

Description
  • Analyze demand from MRP & other sources
  • Communicate requirements to suppliers and analyze feedback
  • Purchase & manage incoming inventory and 3rd party finished goods; generate and track POs & delivery schedules, to ensure outgoing commitments are met
  • Manage shortages & overstocks through expediting, de-expediting, communication, and escalation to resolve
  • Resolve receipt discrepancies, non-conformances, and material RMAs
  • Transact materials in MRP / accounting system
  • Ensure all PO's are closed out accurately and supplier invoice discrepancies resolved
  • Maintain appropriate stocking levels and reorder points
  • Inventory Management:
  • Perform cycle counting and inventory management practices
  • Investigate transaction problems & rectify, analyze and correct root causes
  • Develop plans for EOLs, NPI and product obsolescence
  • Maintain Part Master, AML/AVLs, consumption & pricing history, bills of material, and supplier technical information
  • Fulfillment & Logistics:
  • Prepare Pick Lists
  • Prepare & Log Shipping & Customs Documentation
  • Engineering Change Execution
  • Process Engineering Change Orders
  • Communicate & investigate ECOs, EOLs, and notifications from suppliers
  • Other:
  • Maintain supplier relationships, negotiating lead times, pricing, vendor managed inventory, logistics, and terms & conditions
  • Recommendations and participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in vendor/component sourcing & qualification programs
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years experience as an electronics materials buyer / analyst in an electronics manufacturing or electrical lighting wholesaling operation
  • Post secondary education in an electronics, operations, or purchasing discipline
  • Conversant in electronics components and products
  • Advanced computing skills with EXCEL
  • Strong MRP Experience
  • APICS / PMAC or similar education preferred
  • Logistics experience, Lean / Quality training an asset

  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
